Dairy products are important sources of protein and calcium. Women, particularly, should be aware of the value of dairy products in helping protect them from osteoporosis (loss of calcium from bones). Calcium, of course, plays a vital part in good bone health.
Adult men should include 1.5 cups of milk - 300ml (1/2 pint) - or the equivalent in dairy products in their daily diet.

The following each contain about the same quantity of calcium:
250ml (8 fl oz) milk 200ml (7 fl oz) yoghurt 40g (1 1/3 oz) piece of cheese
