How to choose Pineapples ?

Pineapples - Look for sweet-smelling pineapples that have leaves or “spikes” that can be pulled fairly easily from the top. Mature pineapples are dark green in the hard stage. As they ripen (at room temperature) most varieties turn to a golden yellow or reddish brown color. Avoid pineapples with a dull yellowish-green color, dried appearance, or unpleasant smell.
