There are different types of Chee Cheong Fun (Rice Noodle Roll / Steamed Rice Roll) -
Malaysia / Singapore – called Chee Cheong Fun
- Penang (Malaysia) it is served with black sweet sauce, sweet shrimp paste, sesame seeds and oil, chili sauce and sometime fried onions.
- Ipoh (Perak), Kuala Lumpur (KL, Malaysia) it is served with curry gravy, sometime with some curry chicken
Southern China / Hong Kong – called Steamed Rice Noodle Roll, mostly served in dim sum, served with shrimp, dried shrimp, beef or char siu (barbecued pork) and sweet soy sauce is poured over the dish upon serving.
