Apple Sauce Recipes

Ingredients :

500g cooking apples

3 tbsp water

1 tbsp caster sugar

50g butter

Method :

Peel, core and slice the apples. Put the apple slices into a saucepan with the water. Cook slowly until soft (about 10-15 minutes). Stir from time to time. Add the sugar and butter and beat the mixture well with a wooden spoon. Serve hot or cold.

Serves 4-6

This is a good with hot or cold roast pork. The sharp taste of the apples stops the meat being too fatty.
