Method :
Peel the
onion. Push the cloves into it. Put it in a saucepan with the milk, the
nutmeg and the bayleaf. Bring it to the boil. Then take if off the heat,
cover it with a lid and leave it in a warm place for 20 minutes. Take
out the onion and the cloves and the bayleaf. Add the breadcrumbs. Stir
well. Put in the butter, and salt and pepper. Stir well and then heat
the sauce again slowly. When the sauce is hot and thick, it is ready.
Serves 4-6
We often
serve this thick sauce with chicken and turkey.
