Gravy Recipes

Ingredients :

1-2 tbsp of fat from the roasting tin

250ml stock (meat, chicken or vegetable stock will do)

1 tbsp cornflour

a little water

salt and pepper to taste

Method :

Take the meat out of the roasting tin. Put it on a serving plate and keep it hot. Drain most of the fat from the roasting tin. Leave about 2 tbsp of fat in the tin. Add the stock. Put the cornflour in a cup and add a little water. Mix it carefully so that there are no lumps. Then pour the mixture into the roasting tin. Bring the gravy to the boil, stirring all the time. Add the salt and pepper. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring all the time. Serve very hot.

Serves 4-6

Gravy is a sauce which is usually served with all roast meat or poultry. It uses the juices from the roasting tin. If it is well made, it can be delicious.
