Lentil Burgers Recipes

Ingredients :

2 cup lentils

4 cups water

1 medium onion, chopped fine

salt to taste

1/2 tsp ground sage, or to taste


olive oil or cooking spray

1-2 cups rolled oats

Method :

Bring the water to a boil and add the lentils. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for 40 minutes or until tender. Drain. In a medium bowl, combine the lentils, onion, salt, sage and water. The mixture will be pastry. Lightly coat a frying pan with oil. Add the lentil mixture and cook until the lentils are tender. Let the mixture cool, then form it into patties. Roll each patty in oats and fry in olive oil until heated through.

Makes 4-6 burgers
