Chicken In Black Sauce Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :




2 cm


4 tablespoons



2 teaspoons

1 teaspoon



cloves garlic

piece ginger

red chilies, sliced lengthwise

thick soy sauce

large onion, sliced into thick rings


turmeric powder


Method :
  1. Clean the chicken and cut into the bite sized pieces.
  2. Mix with salt and turmeric powder.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the chicken pieces until crispy.
  4. Drain off the oil but leave 2 tablespoons in the pan.
  5. Fry the pounded ingredients until fragrant.
  6. Add the soy sauce and chicken pieces and mix well.
  7. Add in the onion rings and chilies and just before dishing out, squeeze the lime juice over.
  8. If you want more gravy you can add 1/2 cup water and bring to boil before adding in the chicken pieces.
  9. Soy sauce is already quite salty so be careful not to add too much salt.

Serves 6 - 8
