Fried King Prawns In Cantonese Style Recipes

Ingredients :

1 kg

1 tablespoon

1 teaspoon


1 teaspoon

2 teaspoons

1 tablespoon

1 tablespoon

1 teaspoon

king prawns

sliced garlic

thin soy sauce

candlenuts, pounded


corn flour blended with water

sliced ginger


rice wine


Method :
  1. Clean the prawns and wash with salt water.

  2. Drain and remove tails.

  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.

  4. Fry the prawns for 4 minutes.

  5. Remove and drain.

  6. Remove oil and leave just enough to fry the garlic, shallots and ginger.

  7. Add soy sauce, rice wine and pounded candlenuts.

  8. Mix well for 1/2 minute.

  9. Add the prawns.

  10. Season well.

  11. Add the blended corn four to thicken the gravy.

  12. Stir for another 2 minutes and turn off the heat.

Serves 2 - 4
