Squid Flowers With Peppers Recipes

Ingredients :

550 ml

450 g



1 teaspoon

1 tablespoon

1 teaspoon

1/2 teaspoon

1 teaspoon

groundnut (peanut) oil

squid, cleaned

slices fresh root ginger, peeled and finely chopped

large green pepper, seeded and cut into 2.5 cm squares

sea salt

dark soy sauce

rice vinegar

brown sugar

sesame oil

ground black pepper

Method :
  1. In a wok, heat oil until smoking, add squid and fry for 1 minute.
  2. Remove and drain on absorbent kitchen paper.
  3. Pour oil form wok, leaving just 1 tablespoon.
  4. Add ginger and green pepper and stir fry for 5 minutes until pepper begins to soften.
  5. Stir in sea salt, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar and black pepper.
  6. Bring to the boil, stirring, then reduce heat so sauce is simmering, then add squid and gently heat through.
  7. Transfer to a warmed serving plate and sprinkle with sesame oil.
