potatoes (yams) and cut into pieces. Place in saucepan with 1-2 cups
water (or steam or microwave) and the cardamom, and cook until tender.
Drain, remove the cardamom and mash the potatoes. Add the other spices,
ginger, parsley and chives. Then cover and cool (approximately 1 hour).
Shape into patties (four large or eight small). Coat with sesame seeds.
Place on baking tray, bake for approximately 30 minutes or until sesame
seeds are toasted and patties are heated through.
