Beef With Long Beans Recipes

Ingredients :

750 g

4 -5 tbsp

250 g

3 tbsp

beef, cut into bite sized pieces

tamarind pulp, soaked in 5 cups water and juice extracted

long beans, cut into 2.5 cm pieces


salt to taste

Ground fine

dried chilies



piece galangal

cloves garlic

small piece dried shrimp paste (belacan - optional)

Method :
  1. Heat oil in a pan and when hot, add ground ingredients.
  2. Fry till fragrant.
  3. Add beef and fry for 10 minutes.
  4. Add tamarind juice and boil till meat is tender.
  5. Add salt to taste and simmer till gravy is thick.
  6. Add long beans.
  7. Cook for a few minutes more till beans are done but still crisp.
  8. Serve hot.

Serves 6 - 8

You can substitute pork ribs for the beef in this recipe.
