In 101CookingRecipes.com quantities are expressed in both imperial and metric units. The following tables summarize the equivalents used. The arithmetical correspondence is rarely exact, so in any one recipe follow either the metric or the imperial quantities: do not mix them.

Solid measure

25g = 1 oz

100g = 4 oz

250g = 8 oz

500g = 1 lb

1 kg = 2 lb

1 rounded tablespoon of unsifted flour = 15g (1/2 oz)

Liquid measure

100ml = 4 fl oz

200ml = 1/3 pint

300ml = 1/2 pint

400ml = 2/3 pint

450ml = 3/4 pint

600ml = 1 pint

1 liter = 1.75 pints

1 teaspoon = 5 ml

1 tablespoon = 15 ml
