Mix together the flour and salt and
gradually pour on just enough water to make a firm dough - the amount of
water will depend on the actual flour being used.
Flour your hands and divide the dough
into 12 pieces.
Roll each into a ball, then on a
lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a large circle.
Cook each chapati on a heavy based non
stick frying pan or griddle for 2 minutes on each side.
Chapatis can be made in advance and
reheated quickly in a frying pan, or put on a baking tray in the oven at
180oC (350oF), Gas 4 for 10 minutes.
