Cucumber Raita Recipes

Ingredients :


225 ml

1 tablespoon

1 tablespoon


1 teaspoon

1 teaspoon


natural yoghurt

chopped coriander leaves

chopped fresh mint

green chili, seeded and finely chopped

cumin seeds

mustard seeds

coriander or mint leaves, to garnish


Method :
  1. Cut cucumber into 0.3 cm x 1 cm sticks and place in a bowl.

  2. Add yoghurt, coriander, mint and chili and stir gently to mix.

  3. Season with salt.

  4. Chill for 30 minutes.

  5. Meanwhile, put cumin and mustard seeds in a frying pan and dry roast over a medium heat for 1-2 minutes, until they begin to pop.

  6. Leave to cool, then sprinkle over yoghurt mixture.

  7. Serve chilled, garnished with coriander or mint leaves.

Makes about 350 ml
