Hot Tomato Sambal (Sambal Tomat) Recipes

Ingredients :

3 ripe tomatoes

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp chili sauce

4 tbsp fish sauce, or soy sauce

1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Method :

Cover the tomatoes with boiling water to loosen the skins. Remove the skins, halve, discard the seeds and chop finely. Place the chopped tomatoes in a bowl, add the salt, chili sauce, fish sauce or soy sauce and coriander.

Sambals are placed on the table as a condiment and are used mainly for dipping meat and fish. They are quite strong and should be used sparingly.

Serves 4 - 6
