Chicken With Wasabi Sauce Recipes

Ingredients :

4

1 tablespoon

 

Wasabi Sauce :

2 tablespoons

3 tablespoons

1 tablespoon

1 teaspoon

boneless, skinless chicken breasts

sake

watercress sprigs and lemon slices, to garnish

 

wasabi paste or powder

soy sauce

sake or white wine

chopped fresh chives

juice 1/2 lemon

Method :
  1. Inserting the knife blade diagonally, slice fillets crossways into pieces 1 cm thick.

  2. Sprinkle with sake.

  3. To make wasabi sauce, mix wasabi paste, soy sauce, lemon juice, sake or white wine and chopped chives.

  4. If using wasabi powder, mix with an equal quantity of water to make a paste, then combine with other sauce ingredients.

  5. Cook chicken slices, a few at a time, in boiling water for 2 minutes ( do not over cook), then plunge into ice cold water.

  6. Drain slices and serve on individual plates, garnished with watercress and lemon slices and accompanied by small individual bowls of wasabi sauce.

Serves 4 as a starter
