Beef Dough Balls Recipes

Ingredients :

Dough

225g self raising flour

50g butter

120ml milk

beaten egg to glaze

Filling

175g minced beef

15ml tomato purée

25g frozen peas

25g freshly grated mozzarella cheese

salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method :
  1. Preheat the oven to 400F, Gas 6.
  2. For the dough, sift the flour into a bowl.
  3. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. Gradually stir in the milk to form a dough.
  5. Cut the dough into sixteen equal pieces and roll into 10cm circles on a lightly floured surface.
  6. For the filling, dry fry the minced beef for 3 minutes, stirring all the time.
  7. Add the tomato purée and peas.
  8. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the grated cheese.
  9. Season well.
  10. Spoon the mixture into the center of each dough circle.
  11. Dampen the edges of the dough and bring to the center, folding around to encase the mince mixture.
  12. Pinch together at the top.
  13. Carefully re-shape into balls and place on an oiled baking sheet.
  14. Cook in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  15. Serve with a crunchy salad.

A great way to use up any leftover pizza dough. The balls are easy to make and contain a delicious cheesy meatball in the middle.
