Hot Macaroni Soup Recipes

Ingredients :

1 lb elbow macaroni, cooked and drained

4 wieners, thinly sliced

1 cup chopped celery

1/2 cup small cubes green pepper

2 tbsp chopped pimento

1 cup diced bacon (about 8 slices)

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 cup flour

3 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

3/4 cup white vinegar

1/3 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups water

Method :

Combine macaroni, wieners, celery, green pepper and pimento in a large bowl. Fry bacon in a small skillet until crisp. Add onion and cook gently until onion is limp, stirring. Sprinkle in flour, salt and pepper and stir to blend. Remove from heat. Stir in vinegar, sugar and water. Return to moderate heat and cook until boiling and slightly thickened, stirring constantly. Pour over macaroni mixture while hot and toss lightly. Serve immediately.
