Assam Laksa Recipes

Ingredients :

A

500g mackerel

100g red onions

80g garlic

200g dried chilies (remove seeds)

50g dried shrimp paste (lightly roasted)

 

B

5 pieces dried tamarind

1 small bunch kesum leaves

1 stalk ginger flower

1 stalk lemongrass

 

Condiments

cucumber, boiled egg, pineapple, onions, lettuce, mint leaves, red chilies, salom leaves, prawn (shrimp) paste

Method :

Boil mackerel, separate the bones and blend till fine. Blend ingredients A. Mix the finely blended fish paste with ingredients A and B. Boil in a pot for about 30 minutes. Add in salt and seasoning to taste.

Serves 4-5
