Coconut Chutney

Ingredients :

8 dried chilies

3 tsp dried fish floss, or powdered dried shrimps

3 shallots or 1 small red onion, chopped


100g (3.5 oz) grated fresh coconut, or 75g (2.5 oz) desiccated coconut

lemon or lime juice

Method :

Grind dried chilies, dried fish or shrimp, shallots and salt to a paste. Add coconut, ground slightly, or desiccated coconut moistened with a little warm water. Moisten with lemon or lime juice and a little water if necessary.

Stir well to thoroughly mix all ingredients. Allow to stand for several hours before using.

Serves 3-4
