2 pieces of tofu (diced into 6 and dried on
paper towels)
3 tbsp oil
1 small onion (sliced)
1 small turnip or white radish (peeled and
sliced into 1/2 cm slices)
1 medium ripe tomato (chopped)
1 tsp chopped green cili padi / bird's eye
chili
2 tsp sweet soy sauce
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp salt
60-80ml water |
Method :
Heat oil in a
pan for 1 minute. Fry the tofu over moderate heat until light-brown on
both sides. Remove and set aside. Remove all but 1 tbsp oil. Brown the
onion in the oil over moderate heat for 2 minutes. Add the turnip slices.
Stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add tomato, cili padi, soy sauce, cumin and salt,
stir-fry for 1 minute. Add water and cover the pan. Bring to the boil for
5 minutes. Add the tofu, stir then cover again. Cook for 3 minutes more.
Serve warm and bread.
