Birthday Mee (Noodles) Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :

yellow noodles, scalded and drained

streaky pork, cut into strips

prawns, shelled

bean sprouts, tails removed and blanched

stalks Chinese chives (kucai), cut into 3 cm lengths

pork bones, boiled with 4 liters water to get stock

shallots, chopped and fried

egg, beaten


cloves garlic, chopped

a little thick and thin soy sauce for seasoning

salt to taste

Method :
  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the garlic till golden.
  2. Add the pork and prawns and fry until cooked.
  3. Dish out and keep aside.
  4. Put the stock to boil and season to taste.
  5. Grease a pan and put in the beaten egg.
  6. Swirl the pan around to make a thin omelets.
  7. Remove and shred it.
  8. Divide the noodles into individual serving bowls.
  9. Put in some chives and bean sprouts.
  10. Top with prawns and pork, a little shredded omelette and fried shallots.
  11. Pour the boiling stock over the noodles and serve with sambal belacan.
