Pizza Sauces Recipes

Ingredients :

1 tbsp olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, crushed

425g can peeled tomatoes, crushed

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp sugar

Method :

Heat oil in medium pan. Add onion and stir-fry over low heat for 5 minutes or until very soft. Add crushed garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in tomato, herbs and sugar and cook over low heat for 10 minutes until reduced and thickened. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Cool before use.

Note - Pizza sauce may be made up to 2 days in advance. Place sauce in an airtight container and refrigerate until required. The sauce may also be frozen for up to 2 months. You may like to make a double batch and freeze the remaining sauce for future use.
