Bacon Liver Bake Recipes

Ingredients :

3 slices

2 tbsp

1/2 tsp

1/2 pound

1 cup

1.5 tsp

bacon

all-purpose flour

salt

calves liver, cut in pieces

milk

instant minced onion

fine dry bread crumbs or 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs

butter, melted

dash pepper

Method :
  1. Fry bacon in skillet till crisp; remove, reserving drippings.

  2. Combine flour, salt and pepper.

  3. Dip liver in flour mixture (reserve extra flour); brown in bacon drippings.

  4. Remove liver to 2-cup casserole.

  5. Blend remaining flour with drippings in skillet till smooth.

  6. Add milk; stir in onion.

  7. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.

  8. Pour sauce over liver; crumble bacon over all.

  9. Combine crumbs and melted butter; sprinkle atop casserole.

  10. Bake at 350° about 45 minutes.
