Ingredients :
3 slices
2 tbsp
1/2 tsp
1/2 pound
1 cup
1.5 tsp
1 tsp
bacon
all-purpose flour
salt
calves liver, cut in pieces
milk
instant minced onion
fine dry bread crumbs or 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
butter, melted
dash pepper
Fry bacon in skillet till crisp; remove, reserving drippings.
Combine flour, salt and pepper.
Dip liver in flour mixture (reserve extra flour); brown in bacon drippings.
Remove liver to 2-cup casserole.
Blend remaining flour with drippings in skillet till smooth.
Add milk; stir in onion.
Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
Pour sauce over liver; crumble bacon over all.
Combine crumbs and melted butter; sprinkle atop casserole.
Bake at 350° about 45 minutes.
