Method :

Simmer the whole wheat with the water
and salt in a large, covered pan for 11/4
- 11/2
hours or until tender and all the water has been absorbed.

Mix together the sugar, spices and
currants, stir into the grain mixture and continue cooking for 5
minutes.

Turn into a heated serving dish,
sprinkle with the nuts and serve hot - or allow to cool, and serve with
stewed fruit.
Serving Suggestion :
Serve it hot with stewed plums,
apricots or spiced apples or pears.
