Rice In Banana Leaves Recipes

Ingredients :

2 cups


banana leaves or aluminum foil

Method :
  1. Soften banana leaves by scalding them.

  2. Clean and dry the leaves.

  3. Wash rice and drain.

  4. Wrap rice in banana leaves loosely to get cylindrical packets about 15 cm long and about 5 cm in diameter.

  5. Fasten with toothpicks or staple together.

  6. If using aluminum foil, just wrap the rice in the foil.

  7. Remember to give room for the rice to expand while cooking.

  8. The packets should be no more than 3/4 full.

  9. Place the rice packets in a large pan filled with water and boil for 2 -3 hours.

  10. If necessary, add more water to the pan.

  11. Cool and slice into 5 cm sections and serve.
