Steamed Rice Cakes (Idli) Recipes

Ingredients :

300 g

250 g

2 tablespoons

uncooked rice

black lentils

cooked rice

pinch of salt

Method :
  1. Soak the rice and lentils separately in water for 4 -5 hours.

  2. Grind finely the uncooked rice and cooked rice, then grind the lentils separately.

  3. Mix the rice and lentils together, add salt.

  4. Pour this thick paste into small moulds and steam till cooked about 20 minutes.

  5. Serve with curries or chutneys.

Serves 4 - 6
