Mushroom and Bacon Bolognese Sauce Recipes

Ingredients :

1 x basic recipe Basic Bolognese Sauce

4 rashers bacon

50g smoked sausage

2 large open cap mushrooms

15ml chopped fresh oregano

Method :
  1. Make up the Basic Bolognese Sauce.
  2. Remove the bacon rind and cut the bacon into strips.
  3. Stir into the sauce.
  4. Slice the sausage, add to the sauce and cook on a low heat for 40 minutes.
  5. Peel and slice the mushrooms and add to the sauce together with the fresh oregano.
  6. Cook for a further 10 minutes.
  7. Use as required.

This sauce has a smoky flavor. Great with rice or as the basis for a casserole or minced beef pie.
