Satay (Peanut) Sauce with Chili Recipes

Ingredients :

1 tbsp oil

1 small onion, grated

1 clove garlic, crushed

good pinch of ground chili

250g crunchy peanuts butter

1 1/2 tbsp sweet soy sauce or 1 tbsp soy sauce plus 2 tsp dark brown sugar

2 tbsp lemon juice

250ml water

Method :
  1. In a frying pan, heat the oil.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and sauté gently until soft and golden.
  3. Add the ground chili to the pan, stir in a fry for 1 minute over medium heat.
  4. Add the peanut butter to the pan and stir well.
  5. Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
  6. Bring mixture to the boil, stirring constantly.
  7. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 1 minute.

Serves 4 - 6
