Fried Pomfret In Gravy Recipes

Ingredients :

piece galangal

celery leaves

cooking oil

turmeric powder

tomatoes

piece ginger, sliced

green chilies

pink milk from 1 grated coconut

stalks lemon grass, crushed

bombay onion, sliced

juice from 1/2 lemon

Method :
  1. Clean fish and drain.
  2. Season with salt and turmeric powder.
  3. Heat oil in frying pan and deep fry the fish until crispy.
  4. Remove from pan.
  5. Using the same oil, fry the pounded ingredients until fragrant.
  6. Add in the sliced tomatoes and cook until the gravy thickens over a low fire.
  7. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Add in tomato sauce, fried pomfret and cook until gravy thickens.
  9. Add in lemon juice, onion rings, sliced green chilies, sliced celery leaves, ginger and galangal.
  10. Turn fish over and simmer for 5 minutes.
  11. Remove from fire and serve.

Serves 4 - 6
