Prawns In Red Sauce Recipes

Ingredients :

500 g

large raw prawns


stalks spring onions, shredded

cloves garlic, crushed

piece ginger, chopped

fresh red chili, chopped

Chinese rice wine

thin soy sauce


tomato puree

chicken stock

corn flour

salt and pepper to taste

Method :
  1. Snip off the legs of the prawns, leaving the shell intact.

  2. Wash well, drain and set aside.

  3. Heat oil and fry the garlic, ginger and chili for 1 minute.

  4. Add the prawns and fry for 5 minutes, turning the prawns occasionally so that they cook evenly.

  5. Pour in the rice wine and soy sauce.

  6. Add sugar, salt and pepper.

  7. Stir gently.

  8. Add the tomato puree and stir again.

  9. Thicken sauce with corn flour blended with a little water and stir on medium heat.

  10. Dish out the prawns and pour the sauce over.

  11. Serve garnished with shredded spring onions.
