Caldillo (Alaine Bracken and Betty Burke) Recipes

Ingredients :

1 1/2 pounds cubed beef

1/2 tsp to 1 tbsp chili powder

1 10-ounce can beef bouillon

1 10.5-ounce can stewed tomatoes

2 cups boiling water

1 large onion, chopped

1-2 green chilies (depending on taste), chopped

1 garlic clove, minced

1/2 bunch of fresh cilantro or 1/2 tsp dried cilantro

3 medium tomatoes, cubed

Method :

In a large skillet, brown the cubed beef and add the chili powder. Cook for a few minutes longer. Place the meat and the remaining ingredients into a Crock-Pot and cook for 8-10 hours. Start on high for 1 hour, then turn down to low for the remainder of the time.
