fresh green beans, cut on diagonal
carrots, sliced thin
small thin slices turnip
sliced paper thin (white part only)
finely chopped celery
fresh or frozen peas
finely shredded green cabbage
1 1/2 tsp
chopped fresh dill
in large saucepan. Add 2 tbsp (30 ml) water and beans. Cover and cook
over high heat 3 minutes, shaking pan often. Add carrots, turnip, leeks,
celery and 1/2 cup (125ml) water. Cover and cook about 7 minutes or
until vegetables are nearly tender. Add peas and simmer 5 minutes.
salt, pepper, paprika and milk. Simmer 5 minutes. Stir in lettuce and
heat. Ladle into bowls and sprinkle with dill.
Serves 4 - 6
