beef, cut into small cubes

water, cut into cubes

potatoes, cut into cubes

carrots, cut into cubes

large onions

macaroni

coriander seeds

cumin

aniseed

shallots

stalks spring onions, chopped

sliced and dried in 1 tablespoon ghee

Method :
  1. Boil the beef with water until tender.

  2. Add in the ground ingredients.

  3. Add in the potatoes, carrots and large onions.

  4. Put in the ghee used in frying the sliced shallots.

  5. Season to taste and bring to boil.

  6. Blanch the macaroni with water and a pinch of salt.

  7. Lift and drain.

  8. To serve, put macaroni in individual bowls and pour the soup over.

  9. Garnish with chopped spring onions and fried shallots.

Serves 4 - 6
