Steamed Winter Melon Stuffed With Minced Pork Recipes

Ingredients :

375 g winter melon

150 g minced pork

2 dried black mushrooms (finely chopped)

2 tbsp diced carrot

2 salted duck's egg yolks

(or some soft brown meat of crabs)

pinch of finely chopped Chinese parsley

Marinade :

2/3 tsp sugar

2/3 tsp salt

1 tsp light soy sauce

1 tsp caltrop starch

1 tsp oil

pinch of pepper

Sauce :

light soy sauce

cooked oil

sesame oil

Method :
  1. Mix minced pork with mushrooms, carrot, Chinese parsley and marinade.
  2. Stir and slab the mixture to make filling, dice egg yolks.
  3. Wash and blanch vegetables with oil and salt, skin water melon.
  4. Cut into fan like shape and parboil for 1/2 minute.
  5. Remove, soak for a while and drain.
  6. Dab with a little caltrop starch.
  7. Stuff with filling and work into cone shaped rolls.
  8. Top with diced egg yolk.
  9. Place the remaining filling in the center of plate with winter melon rolls on the side.
  10. Steam over high heat for 5 minutes.
  11. Remove and add sauce, serve hot.
