Braised Chicken in Prune Sauce Recipes

Ingredients :

1/2 chicken

1 tbsp chopped shallot

1 tbsp chopped garlic

12 preserved prunes

50g pickled pimento

Marinade

1/2 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp cornflour

1/2 tbsp light soy sauce

1 tbsp ginger wine

Sauce

400ml water

1/2 tsp chicken powder

1 tbsp dark soy sauce

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp Zhenjiang vinegar

Thickening Glaze

2 tbsp water

1 tsp cornflour

Method :

Chop chicken into pieces. Mix in marinade and leave it for 15 minutes. Heat 3 tbsp of oil in saucepan. Sautee shallot and garlic until fragrant. Put in chicken and sauté for a while. Pour in sauce and add preserved prunes. Bring to the boil and then switch to low heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir in pickled pimento. Thicken the sauce with cornflour solution. Serve hot.

Dishes with fruit are appetizing and nutritious. Prunes, peaches and apples can be used.
