Vietnamese Beef Soup Recipes

Ingredients :

175 - 225 g

675 ml

1 tablespoon


beef steak, thinly sliced

freshly ground black pepper

minced garlic


soy sauce

vegetable oil

finely chopped lemon grass

shallots, thinly sliced

beef or chicken stock

fish sauce

spring onions, chopped

salt to taste

chopped coriander leave, to garnish

Method :
  1. In a bowl, marinate beef slices with pepper, garlic, sugar and soy sauce for at least 2-3 hours.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or pan and stir fry chopped lemon grass and shallots for about 1 minute.
  3. Add beef or chicken stock and bring to the boil.
  4. Add beef and fish sauce and bring back to the boil.
  5. Adjust seasoning and serve at once, garnished with chopped spring onions and coriander.
