Turmeric Rice (Nasi Kunyit) Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :

rice, washed and dried well

screw pine leaves, washed and tied into a knot

thick coconut milk

thin coconut milk

fresh turmeric, pounded and juice extracted

stalk lemon grass, crushed

piece ginger, crushed

salt to taste

Method :

Put the rice in a pan together wit salt, screw pine leaves, thin coconut milk, turmeric juice, crushed ginger and lemon grass. Bring to boil. Cook rice over very low heat until it is completely dry. Pour the thick coconut milk over the top of the cooked rice, cover the pat and cook for another 5 minutes until dry. Remove the screw pine leaves, lemon grass and ginger. Serve with a sambal of your choice.
