Bhatura Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :

400 g

100 g

3 g

a pinch

25 g

10 g

150 ml

20 g

500 ml

flour

semolina (sooji)

baking powder

baking soda

yoghurt

sugar

water

clarified butter (ghee)

oil for deep frying

salt to taste

Method :
  1. Sieve the flour, semolina, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a bowl.
  2. Whisk the yoghurt and sugar together, add to the flour, mix in cold water and knead.
  3. Cover the bowl and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  4. Add clarified butter to the dough and knead to make a fine, soft dough.
  5. Cover and set aside for 30 minutes.
  6. Divide into 20 equal balls, roll out each ball and pull gently from both ends to make an oval shape.
  7. Heat oil in a wok.
  8. Deep fry each bhatura until it is golden brown on both sides.
  9. Serve hot.
