Chappatis Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :

225 g

150 ml

15 g

whole wheat flour, sieved

salt (optional)

water

clarified butter (ghee)

Method :
  1. Mixed flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add water, knead into a smooth and elastic dough.
  3. Cover and keep aside for 20 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Place the dough on a floured board.
  5. Divide into 8 portions, roll out each into a thin round, the size of a snack plate.
  6. Heat a tawa (griddle).
  7. Place one round on the griddle.
  8. Cook until tiny spots appear on one side, flip over and cook the other side for a few seconds.
  9. Flip over again and roast till it is of pale golden color on both sides.
  10. Brush lightly with butter and serve hot.

Serves 4 - 5
