Cumin Rice (Jeera Pulao) Recipes

Ingredients :

3 tbsp vegetable oil

2 bay leaves

1/2 tbsp cumin seeds

2 medium onions, chopped

1 3/4 cups long grain or Basmati rice

700ml water

Method :

Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the bay leaves and cumin seeds. Fry for 1-2 minutes. Add the onion and sauté until transparent. Add the rice and fry until well coated, then add the water and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes, until done.

This rice dish can be served will all kinds of Indian curries. It is best made immediately before serving.

Serves 4 - 6
