Khasta Bread (Roti) Recipes

Ingredients :

500g whole wheat flour

salt to taste

15g carom (ajwain) seeds

12g sugar

300ml water

Method :
  1. To the sieved flour, add salt, sugar and carom seeds.
  2. Knead into a hard dough with water.
  3. Cover with a moist cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 10 equal portions and roll into balls.
  5. Dust and roll into 10cm discs.
  6. Prick with a fork evenly.
  7. Bake the roti or bread for 8-10 minutes in oven 350F or till light brown in color.
  8. Serve hot.
