Masala Poori Cooking Recipes

Ingredients :

flour, sieved

salt

cayenne pepper or paprika

turmeric (haldi) powder

cumin (jeera) powder

coriander powder

oil for frying

Method :
  1. Mix the flour, salt, cayenne pepper, turmeric, coriander and cumin.
  2. Add oil and rub it in till it is thoroughly incorporated.
  3. Add water, knead into a medium soft dough.
  4. Lightly oil your palms and knead until the dough is silky smooth and pliable.
  5. Shape into a smooth ball.
  6. Brush with oil and keep aside for 3 hours.
  7. Knead again briefly, divide into 16 equal portions and shape into balls.
  8. Compress each into a 2" patty.
  9. Dip one end of the patty in oil and roll out into a 5" round, place on a flat surface.
  10. Similarly, roll out the other portions.
  11. Heat oil in a wok.
  12. Carefully slip one round into the hot oil.
  13. Fry until it puff up and is golden brown on both sides.
  14. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  15. Serve hot, as an accompaniment to any curry dish.
