Ingredients :

flour, sieved

baking soda

baking powder

egg, whisked

sugar

milk

clarified butter (ghee) or oil

onion (kalonji) seeds

melon (magaz) seeds

salt to taste

Method :
  1. Mixed flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, egg, sugar and milk.
  2. Add enough water to knead into a soft and smooth dough.
  3. Cover with a moist cloth, keep aside for 10 minutes.
  4. Add oil, knead and punch the dough, cover and keep aside to ferment for 2 hours.
  5. Divide the dough into 6 balls, place on a lightly floured surface, sprinkle onion and melon seeds, flatten the balls slightly, cover and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  6. Flatten each ball to make a round disc, stretch on one side to form an elongated oval.
  7. Place on a greased baking tray.
  8. Bake in preheated oven (175C or 350F) for 2 - 3 minutes.
  9. Serve hot.
