shrimp, cleaned and deveined

oil

onions, finely chopped

garlic paste

cloves (laung), ground

flour

turmeric (haldi) powder

red chili powder

sugar

cinnamon (daalchini), ground

beef or chicken stock

creamed coconut

lemon juice

salt to taste

Method :
  1. Heat oil, sauté onion, garlic paste and cloves.
  2. Fry lightly, add flour, turmeric, chili powder, sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Cook for a few minutes.
  4. Gradually add stock and creamed coconut to the pan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Add the shrimp and lemon juice.
  7. Season to taste with salt, cook for another 10 minutes.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with julienned ginger and chopped coriander, accompanied by any Indian bread.
