Tomato Fish Cooking Recipes

fish fillets (firm and white), deboned and cubed

turmeric powder

oil

onions, sliced

red chili powder

sugar

garam masala

coriander powder

tomatoes, blanched, deseeded and chopped

sour cream

lemon juice

green chilies, slit in half, deseeded

salt to taste

Method :
  1. Marinate the fish cubes with turmeric powder (11/2 tsp) and salt to taste.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan, fry the fish cubes until they are evenly browned.
  4. Put aside on a plate.
  5. Add onions and sauté till transparent.
  6. Stir in red chili powder, sugar, garam masala, coriander powder and the remaining turmeric powder.
  7. Cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Add tomatoes, sour cream, lemon juice, green chilies, bring to a boil, stirring continuously.
  9. Add fried fish cubes to the sauce and coat evenly.
  10. Simmer for 10 minutes or until fish is cooked.
  11. Serve hot, accompanied by any Indian bread.
