Spicy Meatballs (Rempah Daging) Recipes

Ingredients :

2 French shallots, chopped

2 cloves garlic, chopped

2 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp ground coriander

500g beef mince

1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs

1 egg yolk

2 tsp sambal ulek

1 tbsp soy sauce

1/4 cup peanut oil

Method :

Crush or pound together shallots, garlic, cumin seeds, and coriander in a mortar with pestle or small food processor. Combine mixture with beef, breadcrumbs, egg yolk, sambal ulek and soy sauce. Shape mixture into small walnut-sized balls. Heat oil in a large frying pan. Fry meatballs for 5-6 minutes or until golden. Serve meatballs with wedges of lime and/ or sweet chili sauce.
