Spring Rolls (Lumpia Goreng) Recipes

Ingredients :

1 tbsp peanut oil

2 cloves garlic, crushed

4 springs onions, sliced

350g chicken mince

1 carrot, finely sliced

2 cups Chinese cabbage, shredded

2 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)

50g vermicelli noodles, cooked

spring roll wrappers

oil for cooking


Spring Roll Sauce (saus lumpia)

1 tbsp tamarind concentrate

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp water

1/2 tsp sambal ulek

1/2 tsp root ginger, grated

1/2 tsp palm sugar or brown sugar

Method :

Heat oil in a wok or frying pan. Add garlic, shallots and chicken mince and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes or until mince is cooked. Add carrot, cabbage and kecap manis and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes or until cooked. Combine noodles with chicken and leave to cool. Place 1 tbsp of mixture on spring roll wrappers. Roll up and brush the ends with water.

Heat oil in a wok or frying pan. Cook spring rolls in oil for 1-2 minutes or until golden and crisp. Combine all sauce ingredients in a small dish and set aside. Drain on paper towel and serve with saus lumpia.
