Fried Mutton Recipes

Ingredients :

850 g

9 cups

1 tablespoon

3 cm


1 tablespoon

7 tablespoons


coconut milk, extracted from 11/2 coconuts

coriander seeds and cumin, pounded coarsely

piece ginger, pounded

cloves garlic, pounded



salt to taste

Method :
  1. Place the mutton in a pan with coconut milk.
  2. Add in sugar, salt, ginger, garlic, coriander seeds and cumin.
  3. Bring to the boil.
  4. Add in tamarind juice.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer until the meat is tender.
  6. Remove mutton, drain and cut into thick slices.
  7. Heat oil and fry the meat over a charcoal fire for 3 minutes on each side.
  8. Cut into smaller pieces and serve with chili sauce.

Serves 6 - 8
